THE FOLLOWING IS A STORY FROM THE BOSTON HERALD.
Pride of Rhode Island Pauly D is looking beyond the Jersey Shore to his next gig.
“You know DJ AM? May he rest in peace. Someone needs to take over for him. I want that job,” said the faux-tanned MTV guido formerly known as Paul Delvecchio, a R.I. club DJ from Johnston.
The late DJ AM (real name Adam Goldstein) was a globe-trotting spinner – and ex of Simple Life chick Nicole Richie - who scored upward of $25,000 a night for club gigs or private parties. He died of an accidental overdose in August.
Pauly, who smashed it at a jam-packed McFadden the other night, said he knows that stuff is in the works for the return of MTV’s breakout hit.
The cast of the show, eight self-proclaimed guidos and guidettes who share a house on the Jersey Shore, are said to be thisclose to swinging a $10,000-per-episode deal with the network for Season 2.
So how did a kid from Johnston get to hang with a bunch of fist-pumpers from the Tri-State area at the Shore?
“They told me I had the look,” said Pauly, whose signature rock-hard up do takes 25 minutes to prep every day. The look is what got it.
“When you think of guidette, you think of Snooki, when you think of guido, it’s me,” said Pauly D, who seemed to be quite taken with McFadden’s bar manager Nicole Surette all night. “Snookie’s my girl. We keep it real on the show. And the Situation is my road dawg. He’s just like me.”
WOW. No doubt about it, DJ AM was an inspiration to many and to say he inspired you is completely acceptable. It crosses the line and becomes unacceptable when someone who doesn’t event have one percent of the talent that Adam had, goes on the record and publicly states that he wants to replace him. We’ve got news for you Pauly, Adam is irreplaceable, so get over yourself. We’ll see how popular you are and how many gigs you get once this Jersey Shore fad dies out. Until then, stop being a disgrace to us hard-working, music loving, non-microwave, non-sellout deejays.

I stumbled upon this video today. Rest in peace Adam. It’s a clip of him playing Daft Punk on Halloween last year.
Even better is his costume! F*cking legit!
